Hello dog lovers!
I am a trainer specializing in positive reinforcement behavior modification and obedience training for dogs of all ages located in Brighton, and servicing all of South England. My 23 years of experience with canines includes obedience training, hands on care of up to 75-100 dogs at one time, management of a doggy daycare, rescue and boarding facility, and 23 years of caring for my own personal pets.
My fascination with animals in general, and even more specifically canines, first led me to a job as a dog wrangler at "Urban Dog" in Los Angeles California in 1998 where I worked and studied under owner Kim Garsed for three years. I then relocated to Wilmington North Carolina where I furthered my training under truly gifted behaviorist Whitney Doremus, owner of "Dogs at Play", another doggy daycare, boarding, and training facility with businesses located both in Vermont and North Carolina. It was here under a management position that I profoundly began to understand and appreciate communication between dogs and further, communication between dogs and humans.
In addition, in late 2002, I completed a course in Veterinary assisting with a special interest in Holistic Veterinary Medicine which has allowed me to have a greater understanding of certain medical symptoms that could be causing behavioral problems. Through these experiences I've found that the most effective way of training dogs is through consistency and positive reinforcement, training the human to train the dog.
